This week in EW: You may think you know how brutal HBO’s beautiful dark twisted fantasy Game of Thrones can get. But to paraphrase Wildling temptress Ygritte, “You know nothing about season 3.”
Game of Thrones is launching a traveling exhibition that will show off props, costumes, and various multi-colored suits of armor from the show’s first two seasons. We’ve got five photos from the show — including this sexy shot of a Night’s Watch uniform. What’s with the dust, though? Is this the work of the White Walkers?!
No new footage in this Game of Thrones season 3 teaser — but who cares? He’s singing “The Rains of Castamere”!
Happy Monday! Ease into the week with this brand-new Game of Thrones season 3 featurette, which includes a few glimpses at the season’s new characters — most notably Queen of Thorns Olenna Tyrell (Diana Rigg) and the Reed siblings, Jojen (Thomas Brodie-Sangster) and Meera (Ellie Kendirck). Eek! (It rhymes with “shriek.”)
The Game of Thrones: Season 2 Blu-ray/DVD that’s going to be released February 19 includes a lot of awesome things, such as:
- 19 animated histories detailing the mythology of Westeros and Essos as told from the varying perspectives of the characters themselves and featuring, in-part, illustrations from Game of Thrones storyboard artist Will Simpson
- A 30-minute feature about the making of the Battle of Blackwater Bay
- 12 commentaries with cast and crew including David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, George R.R. Martin, Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington
- Never-before-seen content concealed in hidden “dragon eggs”
