Baseless Theory Alert: Is Luke Cage in ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Here’s our analysis.
“I literally had the I’m-always-angry revelation during production. I had this certain amount of back-burner simmer of rage that I was completely aware of, but apparently I wrote it for Bruce Banner, going [to myself]: ‘I think this is what a guy like this might go through!’ Interesting! What guy, Joss? ‘I don’t know! Some guy. I can’t think of anyone in particular, or why this is coming to me…’ Really, Joss? Really?”
Joss Whedon, an Entertainer of the Year, reveals how he and the Hulk are actually one and the same.
This week in EW: It’s our annual Entertainers of the Year issue, starring Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lawrence, Joss Whedon, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and even more of the people you love.
“I thought The Avengers was an appalling film. They’d shoot from some odd angle and I’d think, why is the camera there? Oh, I see, because they spent half a million on the set and they have to show it off. It took me completely out of the movie. I was driven bonkers by that illogical form of storytelling.”
DC vs. Marvel! Batman vs. Iron Man! Summer tentpole vs. summer tentpole! Here’s what Wally Pfister, Christopher Nolan’s longtime cinematographer, thinks of Joss Whedon’s The Avengers.
Whedon’s 10 favorite episodes are airing as an all-day marathon on LOGO May 19. Here’s what made the cut:
“Prophecy Girl” (112)
“Innocence” (214)
“Becoming Part II” (222)
“The Wish” (309)
“Doppelgangland” (316)
“Hush” (410)
“Restless” (422)
“The Body” (516)
“Once More With Feeling” (607)
“Conversations with Dead People” (707)
It’s kinda interesting that the finale didn’t make the list — and unsurprising that seasons 5, 6, and 7 are represented by just one episode apiece. Do you agree with Whedon’s picks? Which other great episodes do you think deserve to be in this list?
“I can get a studio to finance my dream project, the reboot of “Air Bud” that we all feel is so long overdue. (He could play Jai Alai! Think of the emotional ramifications of JAI ALAI!!!!)”
Joss Whedon reveals how his life has changed, thanks to the massive success of The Scavengers. Er, The Ravengers. Wait. The Avoiders?
Don’t know Black Widow is? Having trouble deciphering the Hulk’s roar? Can’t tell the difference between Hawkeye and Thor? EW’s team of super geeks is here to help with our “Avengers Files, a seven-part series of superhero primers.
First up: Everything you always wanted to know about Iron Man, but were afraid to ask.
We’re really into this Escher-esque Cabin in the Woods poster from Mondo and The Alamo Drafthouse. What do you guys think — and are you excited for the movie?
Okay, so this is apparently what the alien invaders in The Avengers look like. Though the image is a little fuzzy, EW’s Anthony Breznican says it indicates that the beasties aren’t “the goblin-esque, Spock-eared Skrulls, though it’s possible they are a more savage take on the Kree, despite [Joss] Whedon’s claims that it’s not.”
All we know for sure: We have no idea what a “Skrull” or a “Kree” is. Maybe they’re Yeerks?
