Haters to the left: Anderson Cooper just looooooves Anne Hathaway, and he doesn’t care who knows.
For your consideration: An awesome parody of Anne Hathaway’s version of “I Dreamed a Dream.” That’s Anne with an “e,” people.
“It was obviously an unfortunate incident. It kind of made me sad on two accounts. One was that I was very sad that we live in an age when someone takes a picture of another person in a vulnerable moment and rather than delete it, and do the decent thing, sells it. And I’m sorry that we live in a culture that commodifies the sexuality of unwilling participants, which takes us back to ‘Les Mis,’ because that’s what my character is.”
This is what happens when you ask Anne Hathaway about that time she accidentally showed her Princess Diary to a bunch of photographers.
“My first experience [with Les Miserables] was seeing my mom in the show. I was 7 and she was cast in the first national tour as the factory girl who gets Fantine fired. And she [understudied] for Fantine. So my first time seeing the show was when she was the factory girl, and my second time seeing the show was when she played Fantine. I’ve been hired into the family business – of simulating prostitution and death.”
After seeing an exclusive rough-cut preview of Les Miserables — jealous! — EW’s own Anthony Breznican had the opportunity to chat with stars Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway. Here are those interviews — the first major ones either actor has done about Les Mis.
New Les Mis character posters! And there’s more where this came from — click through to see Javert (Russell Crowe), Fantine (Anne Hathaway), and Little Cosette (Isabelle Alle).
