Quiz time: Lady Gaga on ARTPOP, or Andy Warhol on Pop Art?

.) Don’t pay any attention to what they write about you. Just measure it in inches.

.) I think everybody should like everybody.

.) What I’ve discovered is that in art, as in music, there’s a lot of truth-and then there’s a lie. The artist is essentially creating his work to make this lie a truth, but he slides it in amongst all the others.

.) I like boring things.

.) I think that the world has fallen into a very interesting trap, where people look at visuals in such a rudimentary way, they are not approaching them in a complex way. So what happens is that everything becomes nothing. Everything that we review means nothing anymore because nobody is able to look at anything with any sort of artistic eye, to find the complexity behind it.

.) I had a lot of dates but I decided to stay home and dye my eyebrows.

.) What I have tried endlessly to become through my work is a celebration of my differences through art, with myself as the canvas, as opposed to me as the subject matter, being put on the canvas.

.) I never think that people die. They just go to department stores.

.) I’m quite excited to get into an artistic conversation. An artist is the only thing I want to be.

.) I believe in low lights and trick mirrors.

.) I love Los Angeles. I love Hollywood. They’re beautiful. Everybody’s plastic, but I love plastic. I want to be plastic.

.) I don’t like Los Angeles. The people are awful and terribly shallow, and everybody wants to be famous but nobody wants to play the game.

.) [My work] is an exchange between two artists, one from the sphere of pop, the other of art, that results in a true meeting of the minds, one where art is put in the front.

.) I cannot bear the cameras.

.) I’m not the exhibitionist the articles try to make me out as.

.) Nothing changes except that I just become more excited and more hungry to make more and to challenge my mind….We’re not in the age anymore where you can put the shovel in the wall and call it art. It’s over.
