The Force is with us after all: A new animated Star Wars series is coming to the Disney Channel.
We sort of think Patton Oswalt was onto something with his Star Wars-Marvel crossover pitch, so we made him this poster.
Hey L.A.: Get ready for EW’s first-ever CapeTown Film Festival, a 30th anniversary screening of Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. Expect mass geekery, as well as special appearances by some famous faces and beloved characters from the Jedi universe. It’s all going down (when else?) May the Fourth.
Exclusive! Disney told us all about two Star Wars spin-offs it has in development — a saga about young Han Solo that focuses on the wisecracking smuggler’s origin story, and a bounty hunter adventure featuring Boba Fett at the center of a rogue’s gallery of galactic scum.
Those 3-D re-releases of 'Attack of the Clones' and 'Revenge of the Sith' aren't happening after all
Well, not this fall, at least. “Lucasfilm has decided to postpone this fall’s scheduled release of Episodes II and III in 3D,” the studio tells EW. “Given the recent development that we are moving forward with a new Star Wars trilogy we will now focus 100 percent of our efforts on Star Wars: Episode VII in order to ensure the best possible experience for our fans. We will post further information about our 3D release plans at a later date.”
Remember that time J.J. Abrams told us he wasn’t directing Disney’s new Star Wars movie?
Yeah, he totally lied. Get ready for Star Wars: Episode VII: Attack of the Lens Flare.
This week in EW: We take a closer look at Star Wars, the once and future franchise.
These are the drones you’re looking for.
This R2D2-inspired engagement ring is gorgeous in any galaxy. Also, the guy who designed the ring was dressed up like Charlie Brown when he proposed to his girlfriend (dressed as Lucy, natch). Also, what do we have to do to get invited to this wedding?
“Harrison is open to the idea of doing the movie and he’s upbeat about it.”
According to our sources, Harrison Ford would be up for playing Han Solo again in Disney’s upcoming Star Wars sequel.
What a difference two years make! In 2010, Ford expressed disdain for the character he played in George Lucas’s franchise: “As a character he was not so interesting to me,” he said in an interview with ABC.
“[George Lucas] seems to be in a really good place. He’s really happy. And that’s nice because I know that when we were making the movies, he was not a jolly guy on set. I always felt badly for him because he agonizes over details, and I’m sure after imagining it in his head for so many years, to see it realized — he’d look up and just hang his head and groan. Harrison, Carrie, and I were always trying to cheer him up and joke him out of his doom and gloom.”
We spoke with Luke Skywalker himself — a.k.a. Mark Hamill — about Disney purchasing Lucasfilm and the upcoming new Star Wars movies.
